I've coached endurance athletes for more than 25 years and worked with everyone from beginners preparing for their first race through to elite performers competing at the highest levels of sport.

Heart Rate vs Power: Which Is Better for Triathletes?

Few topics generate more debate in endurance sports than heart rate versus power. The reality is that both tools have value, but they measure different things. Power measures external output. It tells you how much work you're producing.

Heart rate measures internal response. It tells you how hard your body is working to produce that effort.
